Contest Details

Innovation Icon
Innovation Icon 2007 is a unique opportunity for students of engineering, and business colleges to demonstrate their skills, and turn their innovative ideas into real business applications. You can select your own challenge, and build a solution using your own creative idea.

There are exciting rewards including cash prizes and career opportunities with CSC. Registration for participation opens July 16, 2007. Check the contest schedule below.

Getting Started

Step 1: If you are a student and would like to participate in this contest, then click here to register. (First, you will have to register as an individual and then you can proceed to register your project)

Step 2: In order to register your project:
  1. Go through the project guidelines and contest rules on the Guidelines section

  2. Ensure that everyone in your project team has registered on this site

  3. Select the business solution or the project that you want to register based on project guidelines and available project categories

  4. Select a faculty mentor for your project team

  5. Register your project and team in the project registration section

Step 3: Innovation Icon team would review the project entries and select the project applications for the next phase of the contest. Individual project team coordinators would be intimated about selection/rejection of their entries. Selected project teams would receive a kick-off kit that would include their project setup details, mentor contacts and project specific comments/guidance from mentors/selection panel.

Step 4: Once your project entry has been selected, work towards building your solution.

Contest Schedule

  • Jul 16 - Sep 15: Student and Project Registration

  • Aug 13 - Sep 15: Project Selection and Kick-off

  • Before Nov 10: Project Definition Document Submission

  • Before Dec 10: Technical/Functional Specification Document Submission

  • Before Jan 25: Final Source Code/Executable Files and Test Cases

  • Before Jan 31: Final Project Report and Presentation

  • Feb 1 - Feb 28: Winner Selection

  • Mar 1 - Apr 15: Winner Announcement and Felicitation


Rewards

The top three projects will be rewarded a cash prize of Rs. 1, 00, 000, Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively and the teams will also be offered employment with CSC. There are seven consolation prizes, along with some exciting gifts, goodies and much more.
