CSC India Today: In an evolving IT services market, the only thing certain is change. Yet, during CSC India's history, one factor remained constant - CSC's focus on using technology to develop the most innovative and practical solutions that deliver results.
Major acquisition activity to expand competencies and industry expertise continues. In a move to strengthen its global healthcare services business, CSC has completed its previously announced acquisition of First Consulting Group (FCG), an industry-leading professional services firm focused on healthcare and technology. One of CSC’s hallmarks is an inclusive culture that is accustomed to incorporating new companies through acquisition and outsourcing. The acquisition of FCG will be no different. With this, we significantly strengthen our capabilities and offerings in the healthcare vertical. FCG has over 600 resources in India.
2007: CSC acquired Covansys, a global consulting and technology services company specialising in industry-specific solutions, strategic outsourcing and integration services. With this acquisition, which concluded on July 2, CSC's reach in India extended to seven cities including NOIDA, Hyderabad, Indore, Chennai, Bangalore, Vadodara and Mumbai.
2006: CSC opens Office of Innovation in India, one of four such centres being established outside the US. The resource base of CSC in India is more than 7,000 and the company moves to a fourth location, Chennai. CSC announces its state-of-the-art campus in Noida.
2005: CSC India resource base grows 100 per cent to reach 4,400. Three new facilities set up in Noida and Hyderabad.
2004: Two large global engagements in Application Services being serviced in India. Indore and Noida units assessed at PCMM Level 5 and PCMM Level 3 respectively.
2003: CSC in India headcount crosses the 1,000 mark, Infrastructure Services begin operations.
2002: Banking operations initiated. Life Insurance group sees a huge expansion with the Vantage product support.
2001: Healthcare and BPO operations start.
2000: CSC acquires PMSC, PMSC India becomes part of CSC.
1996: Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC) of Blythewood, South Carolina - a leading software vendor serving the insurance industry, sets up Indian arm in Indore, Madhya Pradesh through subsidiary PMSC India.
