CSAM Hits Record PBT RM38.61 Mil


Petaling Jaya, 17 May 2007 – Computer Systems Advisers (M) Berhad (CSAM) announced its unaudited results for the fourth quarter (Q4) of financial year ended 31st March 2007 late yesterday.

CSAM’s Profit Before Tax (PBT) for financial year (FY) 2007 recorded an unprecedented RM38.61 million, an increase of 32.6 percent over FY06’s PBT of RM29.11 million. Net profit for the 12 month period ended 31st March 2007 increased by a record high of 35.7 percent at RM27.70 million compared to RM20.41 million in the corresponding period of FY06. While, revenue for the 12 month period ended 31st March 2007 increased by 7.0 percent to RM433.91 million compared with RM405.38 million in the same period ended 31st March 2006.

In Q4FY07, PBT reached a record high RM13.12 million, a 33.6 percent increase over Q4FY06 which stood at RM9.82 million. Revenue for Q4FY07 increased by 2.1 percent to RM112.46 million compared with RM110.12 million in Q4FY06

Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the full year is 27.37 sen compared to 20.16 sen in FY06. Net Assets (NA) per share as at 31st March 2007 is recorded at RM2.36 per share.

FY07 witnessed a substantial increase in revenue contribution from the IT outsourcing business to 36 percent in the 12 months period ended 31st March 2007, compared to 30 percent in the corresponding period ended 31st March 2006. Contribution from the IT Infrastructure Systems and Solutions (ITSS) business stands at 51 percent with Customer Services and Support (CSS) recording a 12 percent contribution.

An analysis of revenue derivation by industry sectors reveals a 44 percent contribution from banking, finance and insurance while the manufacturing sector maintained a 26 percent contribution in FY07. Contribution from trading and services increased to 14 percent, telecommunications and utilities at contributed 3 percent and securities 4 percent for the financial year ended 31st March 2007.

“We are pleased to note that CSAM has achieved unprecedented higher profits after tax of RM27.7million for the first time after listing. This was the result of better performance in all our core businesses, namely, IT outsourcing, infrastructure and systems integration and CSS. We now have very strong recurring revenue contributed from IT outsourcing and CSS, which have consistently delivered good performance quarter by quarter,” said Chuah Tai Eu, Managing Director, CSAM.

“At the beginning of FY07, CSAM made a firm decision to pursue a strategy of focusing on its core business areas. 12 months later, all engines have fired up as evident from the results. We are pleased to see the Group achieve unprecedented profits and revenue as testament to its ability to transform itself from an IT component provider to a high value IT service provider. We intend to continue to leverage on our global capability and best practices gained from our outsourcing experience to benefit our customers. We will continue to stay focused and expand market share and produce consistently strong earnings for its shareholders” added Chuah.

On the business development front, highlights of contracts won in Q4FY07 include four systems integration contracts with a major airline, semiconductor manufacturers and a government agency. In addition, CSA was also contracted to supply Oracle licenses for a manufacturer in Kuala Lumpur.
