SEI assesses CSC’s Financial Services System team in NOIDA at P-CMM Level 3

INDIA, New Delhi, June 08, 2004– Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) today announced that its Financial Services Group operations based at its NOIDA India centre have been assessed at the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) People Capability Maturity Model (P-CMM) Level 3. This assessment places CSC among 25 organizations worldwide that have been assessed at P-CMM Level 3 or above.

The SEI is a research and development centre chartered to improve software engineering practices. The P-CMM, which uses the process maturity framework of the CMM for Software, describes best practices for managing and developing an organization's entire workforce, enabling an organization to improve its ability to attract, develop, motivate, organize and retain its employees. The SEI designed the P-CMM so organizations can integrate workforce improvement with SEI software process improvement programs.

QAI India’s Rajesh Naik, who is also one of the SEI’s Lead Assessors, led the eleven day assessment, which included evaluating 291 practices across 13 process areas of P-CMM Level 2 and Level 3 (version 2.0) for procedural compliance, implementation and institutionalization.

"Achieving P-CMM Level 3 affirms our continued focus on people and business process improvements,” said Dr. Arun Maheshwari, President and Managing Director of CSC’s operations in India. “We will continue to work on new challenges, embrace new practices and work towards making our operations the most preferred work place for employees. To us, P-CMM Level 3 is not just another quality assessment; it is the way we run our business."
