CSC SIGNS $260 MILLION IN CONTRACT EXTENSIONS WITH GENERAL DYNAMICS
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 30 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has signed four information technology (IT) outsourcing services agreements with General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). The contracts, valued collectively at $260 million, bring the former Veridian business unit into scope and extend services for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, General Dynamics Network Systems and Gulfstream Aerospace through March 2012.
The scope of work for the units is the same and includes a full range of IT services: applications development and maintenance; desktop; mainframe; midrange; network and help desk.
“We are pleased to announce these latest extensions to our longstanding agreements with General Dynamics,” said CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt. “CSC and General Dynamics have enjoyed a productive and mutually beneficial relationship for 14 years. This experience enables CSC to deliver business results that directly contribute to key General Dynamics goals. We look forward to continuing in this important role.”
CSC’s relationship with General Dynamics began in November 1991 when the companies signed a landmark $3 billion, 10-year IT services outsourcing contract. This agreement has been expanded and extended throughout the years, and, in April 2005, CSC announced a $1.63 billion contract to extend services to General Dynamics for an additional 7.25 years.
