The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Therani, Assistant Vice President of CSC’s operations in India, in the presence of the chief guest, Mr. Tapan Mukherjee, President, Electronics Complex Association, Indore.

As a pathbreaking concept, the audio centre aims at recording classroom lessons along with associated questions and answers, as per the prescribed syllabus and circulating these amongst the special children and their parents. Audio cassettes of seminars on counselling, advice by experts, effective learning, teaching methodology, etc. will also be recorded to enable teachers, volunteers, social workers and parents to understand and respond to the needs of these special children, better. The centre will also record music and lectures by renowned doctors/experts that will benefit the children and their families and these will also be used to create awareness amongst tribal, rural and slum dwellers. CSC India has provided the centre with a public address system, stereo recorder with amplifier, mikes, headphone, stabiliser along with the basic furniture for the equipment and the room. The audio centre will be managed by Sewa Mandir, which is a school that has been imparting formal and informal education to visually, speech and hearing impaired children since 1921.
