Team CSC Takes Team Honors in Cycling's Inaugural Amgen Tour of California

#1 Team in the World Finishes First in Eight-Day, 600-Mile Contest

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 26 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Team CSC won the team competition in the inaugural Amgen Tour of California. Team CSC’s cumulative time was lower than that of the 15 teams competing in the new eight-day, 600-mile cycling race that drew more than one million spectators.

Phonak’s Floyd Landis was the overall race winner in the week-long event which started in San Francisco and swept along a route that included the California redwoods, the state’s premiere wine country and the Pacific Coast before concluding in Redondo Beach in Los Angeles County.

Team CSC’s David Zabriskie placed second overall and team captain, Bobby Julich, finished third overall. In addition, Lars Bak won the most aggressive rider jersey after stage four, the tour’s longest stage which covered 130 miles from Monterey to San Luis Obispo.

Competing on Team CSC’s international squad were: Lars Bak (Denmark), Fabian Cancellera (Switzerland), Bobby Julich (USA), Karsten Kroon (Holland), Stuart O’Grady (Australia), Christian Vande Velde (USA), Jens Voigt (Germany) and David Zabriskie (USA).

“We are delighted to have taken top team honors, particularly since the race finished so near the headquarters of our title sponsor, CSC, one of the world’s leading information technology companies,” said Bjarne Riis, owner and manager of Team CSC. “We came here to show the world we have a very strong team and I believe we’ve done just that.”

Team CSC’s Tour of California team comprised returning stars, such as Zabriskie and Voigt, both of whom wore the yellow leader’s jersey during last year’s Tour de France, as well as newcomers to the Team like Australian sprinting star O’Grady and Swiss time trial champion Cancellera.

The Tour of California began in San Francisco on Sunday, Feb. 19, and finished today in Redondo Beach. For full details on the tour, visit www.amgentourofcalifornia.com. For information, images and video about Team CSC, as well as Julich’s blog, visit www.csc.com/cycling.
